Purpose is something we remember

For so many of us, the question of purpose haunts us. What am I here for? What is my work in this lifetime? We search for meaning, thinking it’s something outside of us,a job, a title, a passion we have yet to discover. But the truth is, our purpose isn’t something we find. It’s something we remember.

We are here to serve. That’s it. That’s the whole thing. It doesn’t matter if you’re a healer, an artist, a mother, a teacher, or a stranger offering kindness to someone who needs it. The way in which we serve may look different for each of us, but the deeper purpose, the soul contract we made before we arrived,is always the same. We are here to give what we were born with, to pour it into the world with both hands, without hesitation.

People hear the word “service” and think it means sacrifice, suffering, or giving until there’s nothing left. But real service doesn’t drain you,it fills you. When you are aligned with your purpose, when you are walking the path your soul set for you, there is an energy that moves through you. You don’t feel empty, you feel more alive. That’s the secret no one tells you. Purpose isn’t about personal achievement. It’s about where you pour your love.

Your purpose is woven into you. It’s in the things that come naturally, the things that light you up, the things that feel like home. Maybe you have a gift for listening, for holding space, for creating beauty, for organizing chaos, for making people laugh. These are not random skills, they are signposts leading you toward the work you came here to do. But it’s not enough to recognize your gifts, you have to use them. You have to offer them up, not for validation, not for applause, but because they were never meant to belong to you alone.

Before we took this body, before we were given this name, we agreed to something. We said yes to a path. Maybe that path feels uncertain, maybe you’ve spent years wandering, but trust me,you are never off course. Every detour, every heartbreak, every moment of doubt is part of the unfolding. And if you want to know your purpose, start here: Where are you being called to serve? Who needs what you have to give? Where can you be of use? These questions will lead you home. Not to something outside of yourself, but to the truth that has always been there. Because your purpose is not something you find. It’s something you become.
